Physiotherapy for Diastasis Recti
Your centre, in focus
After pregnancy, your abdominal wall changes – for many women, a gap remains between the straight abdominal muscles. This so-called diastasis recti can feel like instability in your core, show as a visible bulge when you strain, or lead to back pain.
In our physiotherapy sessions, we take a careful look at how your core is built and how it functions, how deep and wide the gap is, and how the tissue responds when you move, breathe and carry load.
From there, we build an exercise and everyday programme that gently activates your deep core muscles, supports your abdominal wall and – step by step – helps you feel at home in your body again.

Pelvic floor & Diastasis recti
Your abdominal wall and pelvic floor work together like a team – when one is weakened or carrying too much, the other often picks up the slack. That’s why we always look at both together.
In our sessions, we look at how your diastasis recti responds, how your pelvic floor handles tension, pressure and breathing – and whether targeted training can improve the way your core and pelvic floor work together.
When it helps, we use rehabilitative ultrasound as biofeedback (not during pregnancy) – so you can actually see your deep muscles working in real time and learn to activate them with confidence.
Therapy with health insurance prescription
If you bring a prescription from your statutory health insurance, we work according to the official guidelines and regulations of your insurance provider.
Health insurers provide basic care : typically 15–20 minutes of treatment time per prescribed session, covering the most essential aspects of therapy.
To ensure enough space for assessment, treatment and your questions, we plan double sessions whenever possible.
This means: 2 units of physiotherapy per appointment with a total of approximately 30 minutes of treatment time. Please note that a double session also requires 2 units on your prescription.
Your prescription is generally valid for 28 days from the date of issue – your first treatment must take place within this period.
Since we can only treat with correctly issued prescriptions and the regulations are complex, we arrange appointments with insurance prescriptions exclusively by phone or email.
Your three therapy sessions:
First session
We start with an in-depth conversation, a thorough assessment, a detailed evaluation of your diastasis recti – and we share everything you need to know about how your abdominal wall and pelvic floor work.
Second session
Based on what we found, we create your personal exercise programme – designed to activate your deep core muscles and support your abdominal wall. You take home exercises you can weave into your everyday life.
Third session
We deepen your training, fine-tune the exercises to fit your daily life and check how far you’ve come. You leave with a clear plan for continuing on your own – and the confidence to do so.
