Consultation and adjustment for pessaries (60 min · 166€)
Therapeutic support for pelvic floor rehabilitation
Pessaries are a valuable medical aid made of flexible silicone, which is inserted into the vagina to support the pelvic organs. They can help when there is a prolapse, a feeling of pressure or a foreign body in the pelvis, or stress incontinence in daily life.
In the pessary consultation we will look at your symptoms together, calmly explain which pessary shape (ring or cube) is suitable for you, and discuss whether a pessary can be beneficial in your situation.
During the adjustment we will test different sizes and shapes (ring or cube), clarify wearing duration and care, and discuss the combination with pelvic floor therapy. This way, you will find an aid that best supports you in daily life, during sports, or in postpartum recovery and feels right for you.
Note on booking via Doctolib: We offer this self-paying service independently of your insurance. Please select during booking "Privately insured / Self-paying" so that all appointments are displayed.

When can a pessary help?
A pessary can provide effective support for a range of conditions:
Pelvic floor prolapse – in cases of prolapse of the uterus, bladder, or bowel, when organs shift downwards
Stress urinary incontinence – involuntary urine loss when coughing, sneezing, laughing or exercising
Pelvic pressure or heaviness – a feeling of something “pushing down” or sitting heavily in the pelvis
During sports – for temporary support of the connective tissue under strain, e.g., when jogging or strength training, to better absorb the impact and provide good support
After childbirth – as a transitional solution to support your connective tissue in the right direction and enable healing from a more favourable position. A descent of the organs (e.g., the anterior or posterior vaginal wall) can lead to the pelvic floor muscles no longer works as it should (reflexively to increased pressure). the connective tissue support from the pessary can help to respond appropriately to stress.
During pregnancy – for cervical insufficiency (shortened cervix) support
Before or instead of surgery – as a conservative alternative or bridge until a planned procedure
