Pelvic Floor Check-up (90 min · 178€)

Your pelvic floor does more every day than is visible from the outside, during breathing, carrying, laughing, in sports, and in every life phase from pregnancy to menopause. If the pelvic floor is out of balance, symptoms such as feeling of pressure, incontinence, pain or instability can arise, sometimes clearly noticeable, sometimes rather diffuse.

In the pelvic floor check-up we will take a close look together. Through a manual examination and, if appropriate, ultrasound as biofeedback you will feel for yourself how your pelvic floor works and where potential lies. This check-up forms the basis for your further treatment or training, you will know where you stand, and you will take your next steps consciously and well supported.

Why a Pelvic Floor Check-up?

Most of the pelvic floor musculature lies inside your body, which makes it very difficult to assess from the outside alone – and even harder to train in a targeted way without knowing where you stand.

As specialised pelvic floor physiotherapists, we can use internal palpation (vaginal, and if needed anorectal) to assess the exact state of your muscles – something that no external examination can provide.

We need this targeted functional assessment to create an individual treatment plan for you (should something be noticeable) – one that is truly tailored to your body.

What do we look at?

Detailed medical history

  • Inspection (scars, skin)
  • Baseline tone of the pelvic floor
  • Sensitivity
  • Pain points
  • Quality of activation
  • Ability to relax
  • Co-contraction (coordination with deep abdominal muscles)
  • Strength, endurance & speed
  • Timing (e.g. when coughing)
Individual evaluation (home exercises and recommendations)

Why ultrasound as biofeedback?

Activating the pelvic floor can feel abstract and hard to grasp – and that’s exactly why working with ultrasound can make such a difference. It makes visible what you can’t feel from the outside.

The ultrasound probe is placed at the vulva, and together we watch in real time how your pelvic floor muscles respond – to tension, relaxation and everyday movements.

It’s an incredibly effective biofeedback method; afterwards, you simply know exactly what a correct pelvic floor activation feels like – and you can build on that with confidence.
